The city of Barcelona has a wide seafront that gives citizens a perfect gateway of beautiful beaches.

From narrow and quiet beaches to enormous extensions of sand ideal to practice beach sports, Barcelona’s beaches are as varied as enjoyable. The pure waters, their cleanness and the offered facilities make them ideal places for an outdoor journey when the weather is warm.

Here is a list of the main beaches in Barcelona:

San Sebastiá: One of the biggest and most traditional beaches in Barcelona, it is an ideal place to practice sports due to its 1085 m length and the well reputed sports clubs located on the beach and its surroundings. The public services provided and the accessible public transport, make San Sebastiá one of the most popular beaches in Barcelona.

Barceloneta: A cosmopolitan beach. Its golden sands are the favorite destination for foreign visitors, as well as groups of young people and students. Along its wide extension, the beach offers several services for visitor's comfort, including a beach library.

Nova Icária: A quiet beach, excellently equipped for games and fun, Nova Icária is the ideal beach to enjoy with family. Its central location provides a favorable access.

Bogatell: A stunning beach, with a large sandy and very peaceful area. Excellent services and good sport facilities are provided, making it an ideal place to relax with friends, family or on your own.

Mar Bella: With a young and vibrating spirit, Mar Bella is a popular beach that receives many visitors every year attracted by its wonderful waters and the first class services. It is an excellent place to practice maritime sports since it has a good nautical base.

Nova Mar Bella: A small and quiet beach with 420m long. It is usually visited by a young public looking for a relaxing atmosphere.

Llevant: This recently created beach is the most eastern beach in Barcelona and has a modern spirit as part of a newly developed zone. Its full services infrastructure attracts varied public that visit the beach every day of the week.
