Planning your trip to Spain
Spain is certain a very diverse country. It has become one of the top tourist destinations in Europe due to its beautiful beaches, delicious gastronomy, cultural heritage and hospitality of their people. There are different types of tourism in Spain, from summer beach holidays to skiing, from capital cities to small villages, from adventure to relaxation.
Starting from the south there are different towns and cities that gather all the attention. Granada is a top tourist destination which attracts tens of thousands of youth going to study and party all the year long. The historical Alhambra is the main attraction of the city attracting visitors from all over the world every year.
Other cities in the south like Cordoba and Sevilla offer unique seafood gastronomic services as well as a great cultural and historical heritage in with churches and museums all around. Getting more to the south there are some very popular beach resorts where Malaga, Torremolinos, Fuengirola concentrates the main tourist services. Marbella on the other hand is a luxury destination with expensive areas and restaurants that are enjoyed mostly by wealthy Europeans who have properties around the area. Playing casino and poker is also an entertainment option in Marbella. Puerto Banus is a port where luxury ships and cars are exhibited as part of the leisure of those rich families who spend their vacations in southern Spain. The security in this area in addition to the good weather and privacy make Puerto Banus an attractive spot for exclusive holidays in Spain.
Regarding central Spain, Madrid outstands as the major tourist destination. Some landmarks to visit in your trip to Madrid include Puerta del Sol, Museo del Prado, Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, plaza Cibeles, just to name but a few. Madrid also offers sports and adventure activities not far than 45 minutes driving from the city. Toledo, an UNESCO world heritage site, stands 1.30 hours from Madrid and it is one of the top tourist destinations of Spain.
It is not new the importance also of Barcelona, the second largest city in Spain after Madrid. Barcelona attracts millions of tourists every year to its sandy beaches and cultural attractions. Sagrada Familia of Gaudi is one of the most visited landmarks, as well as Park Guell and ramblas. If you are planning to visit Spain Barcelona is certainly a very good option for either family, friends or couples looking for relaxing beach holiday, good food and entertainment. Bear in mind that during winter season Barcelona has cold temperatures below 10°C, therefore beach holidays are not an option.
